A BOAT CHRISTENING!

That’s right, we’re christening (please, no babies) a boat in our very own banquet hall on Tuesday, January 22nd. We will also be honouring special guest Winston Cook.

Mr. Cook is a magnate in the rowing world and has close ties with the CRC stemming from when he once coached our Senior/Master Competitive coach, Michael Simonson.  Our best men’s heavyweight single, the stylish Fluidesign, “Lara and Alex Cook” was donated by Mr. Cook last year and named for his daughters. He continued to stay involved with the CRC after the 2011 season, flying out to Calgary from St. Catharines home to help coach the senior competitive group before the 2012 Royal Canadian Henley. Following the Regatta, he donated a brand new Fluidesign heavyweight pair to our club.

We will be christening that boat with Mr. Cook in attendance and request your presence. Please see information below:

WHAT: A fun social mixer to meet other CRC members and get some lunch room talk for work the next day.

WHO: Honouring generous donor and CRC supporter, Winston Cook.

WHEN: January 22nd, 19:00

WHERE: Calgary Rowing Club Banquet Hall

Wine and hors d’oeuvre will be served. Dress is semi-casual
