The end of August saw several Masters rowers participating in long distance endurance events.
Brigit & Robbi joined rowers from Collingwood Rowing Club in a coxed quad to row the 42K Ottawa Sculling Marathon. Despite inclement weather and high winds, the ‘C&C Rowing Factory’ boat completed the challenge in 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Calling themselves, ‘Going Coastal’, Ally, Rana, Kerry, Matt, Phil, Pierre, and Jordi joined rowers from Seattle, Vancouver, and Oklahoma in a coxed quad relay to complete the 88K Race around the Rock Coastal Regatta. They circumnavigated Salt Spring Island, BC, in 8 hours and 39 minutes.
